Six Years of Vigils for Mary: Still No Justice
For six years, we have gathered—both in person and online.
Every year from March 28 through April 4, we have come together virtually and in spirit to remember Mary Santina Collins—not only the beautiful young woman whose life was taken, but the daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, and advocate whose voice was silenced far too soon.
Mary was only 20 years old. She lived with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, an invisible disability that made her especially vulnerable. She trusted others, loved deeply, and deserved the same protection and urgency that every vulnerable person deserves.
Instead, our family spent years waiting for answers and accountability.
The annual vigil has never been only about remembering how Mary died. It has always been about remembering how she lived. We light candles because her life mattered. We tell her story because she cannot. We stand together because no family should have to beg for justice or to be heard.
Each vigil has brought together family, friends, advocates, and community members who refuse to let Mary's name be forgotten. Their support reminds us that justice is not simply a courtroom verdict—it is a commitment to protect the vulnerable, to listen to families, and to act before it is too late.
Mary's Voice was born from that commitment.
What began as unimaginable grief has become a mission to improve the response for missing and vulnerable individuals, support families seeking justice, and advocate for meaningful legislative change. Every step forward has been made in Mary's honor.
As you look through the photos from our six years of vigils, you will see candles, flowers, signs, tears, and hope. Behind every image is a promise: we will continue to speak Mary's name until justice is served.
To everyone who has walked beside us, attended a vigil, shared Mary's story, contacted legislators, prayed for our family, or simply refused to forget—thank you. Your compassion has helped carry us through the darkest years of our lives.
Six years later, justice has still not arrived.
But neither has our determination faded.
We will continue to remember. We will continue to advocate. We will continue to fight for accountability and for changes that may save another vulnerable life.
Because Mary mattered.
And she always will.

It has been six agonizing years without Mary Collins, and still no justice for Mary. As we mark this sixth year since Mary was murdered, the dates, days of the week, and times align once more. It was on Saturday, March 28th, 2020, at 2:30 pm when she was taken from us. Please join us once again for the online vigil for Mary.
Don't forget to tag your posts with #MaryCollins and #MarysVoice to raise awareness for victims' rights advocacy.
Ways to participate might include:
* Changing your profile picture to one of Mary, or to a picture of yourself wearing your Mary's Voice Mask, or even creating your own for Mary.
* Lighting a candle and posting it for each day the murderers had Mary.
* Sharing music that Mary loved by posting a song or a piece of music.
* Showcasing art or poetry in her honor.
* Posting a photo that evokes your memories of Mary.
Whatever tribute you feel moved to share is greatly appreciated. You can post anytime during the eight days they had Mary or whenever you wish.
Please share your posts publicly on your own pages as well. We also encourage you to post on @Mary's Voice Facebook or any of our social media pages. We are forever grateful for your support in advocating for victims' rights and for caring about Mary as we continue to be her voice.
PLEASE NEVER FORGET MARY 💔
